Fancy Ball Costumes Catalogue

1890

This volume of Fancy Dress Pattern Catalogue for Children and Young Ladies from November 1890 was created by Mrs Clara Leach, a London dressmaker and ‘modeller’ of paper patterns with workrooms at 37 New Kent Road and 109 Kennington Park Road. From around 1878, she authored The Family Dressmaker, a magazine with patterns and instructions for dressmaking. In the 1880s and 1890s, she published a number of similar magazines and individual patterns, all aimed at the middle-class home dressmaker.
